The next thing that hurts a narcissist is losing control.
This can happen in small ways and big ways. In small ways, it could be as simple as they don’t get to choose where you go for dinner, or they don’t get to take the lead at the meeting, or they don’t get to plan the party. Things that they want to have control over, because they think they can do it better than anyone else—even if they can’t.
Those are small ways a narcissist can lose control, and it very much will hurt them, even though it’s something small.
And then there’s the big way—the culmination of everything we’ve talked about here. This is when the narcissist ultimately realizes they’ve completely lost control over you. They know they had control for however long, and now they can’t seem to reach you.
They definitely go through stages. This comment right here talks about one of them.
Kathleen says:
“First time listening to your channel yes, the narcissistic ex-boyfriend lost complete control of me. Now he’s trying to get to me through my family by talking to them.”
So yes, this is one of the steps they’ll take once they realize that they’ve lost control over you.
