7 Things That Hurt a Narcissist

This next one is where a lot of people get caught up when they’re looking for revenge: exposing the narcissist.

Now, this is one I don’t recommend doing on purpose, because narcissists can be very vindictive and we know they lack empathy. The line they’re willing to cross is a lot farther than where most people will go. Also, exposing a narcissist for revenge will very much get your hands dirty.

That said, there are some times when people do get away with exposing the narcissist.

Here’s an example from someone who exposed him and called him a pathological liar. They blocked him everywhere and changed their phone number six months ago. He never actually got to them because they set boundaries and sussed him out.

There were a few commenters who talked about doing this and getting away with it because they were able to make a clean break. They exposed them, went no contact, and clearly didn’t have mutual friends and family members. There wasn’t much overlap in relationships, like these. It’s usually difficult to make a clean break like that—and again, even if you can, there’s that karmic backlash, which I certainly don’t want.
