Nobody tells you this, but there’s a massive danger in endlessly forgiving a narcissist who is committed to destroying you. You think you are following the commandments of God. You think you are doing what is asked of you spiritually because that is what we are all taught to do. Forgive and forget.
But unconsciously—without knowing it—you are actually handing your soul back to someone who has already pruned it. They cannot protect it. If you keep forgiving them, God, the universe, the higher power will take this matter into its own hands. Yes, it will be painful. It’ll be extremely difficult, but he won’t necessarily force you to pack your bags and leave right away. Instead, he will unalive the illusion. He will unmask the narcissist. He will make your heart detach before your body ever walks out the door.
Their silent treatments will suddenly stop hurting. Their anger will stop scaring you. Their fake tears will stop working.
