The dark empath turns the narcissist’s flying monkeys against them. This is crucial. A narcissist is nothing without an audience; they are social parasites requiring a network of enablers—flying monkeys, friends, family members, or colleagues—who validate their lies and spread smear campaigns. The narcissist spends years grooming these people, feeding them a distorted version of reality where they are always the victim or the hero, and you are always the villain. They rely on these individuals to defend them and gaslight you by proxy.
But the dark empath understands social dynamics better than the narcissist ever will. They possess a social intelligence that enables them to read the vulnerabilities and insecurities of the flying monkeys just as easily as they read the narcissist. The dark empath doesn’t launch a messy emotional counterattack or beg people to believe them. Instead, they quietly and strategically reveal the truth.
They might drop a single undeniable fact in a group setting, share a recording or a screenshot with the golden child or the main enabler at exactly the right moment. They use the narcissist’s own lies to expose them. When the followers realize they are being used as props in a sick game, their loyalty snaps; they turn away in disgust. Losing their audience is akin to losing oxygen for a narcissist. Without people to reflect their greatness, the narcissist experiences a total loss of identity, becoming a social pariah in the very circles they once dominated. This devastating social downfall is the point of no return. Quite often, the narcissist consequently enters a permanent state of isolation, realizing that the kingdom they built on lies has finally been burned to the ground.
